Sri Lanka has secured 2 million syringes from Kenya of which the first consignment of 800,000 syringes have been dispatched to Colombo. Government to purchase 100 MT of oxygen from India

The Government is to purchase 100 Metric Tonnes (MT) of oxygen from India, the Ministry of Health said today. The oxygen is to be purchased next week and distributed to COVID-19 treatment facilities. The Ministry of Health said that if there is a requirement more oxygen will be purchased. Sri Lanka is facing a shortage of oxygen as a result of a rapid rise in the number of people affected by the coronavirus. (Colombo Gazette)
