Russia and Sri Lanka discuss pressing issues in global arena

Russia and Sri Lanka had talks today on pressing issues in the global arena.

Si Lanka’s Ambassador to Russia, Doctor Dayan Jayatilleka paid a courtesy call on Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting Ambassador Jayatilleka and Maria Zakharova had a wide-ranging discussion on a number of topics of current concern in international relations and shared their views on pressing issues in the global information arena.

Maria Zakharova is also a spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially representing Russia.

She previously headed the Press Service of Russia?s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York City.

Uni students stage mass protest in Colombo

University students staged a mass protest in Colombo this evening disrupting traffic at Town Hall, the police media unit said. The students has staged a march upto the University Grants Commission (UGC) in Colombo forcing the road opposite the UGC to be closed during rush hour traffic.
