Eight arrested attempting to go to New Zealand by boat

Eight people have been arrested in Negombo while attempting to go to New Zealand by boat. The police said that the eight would-be asylum seekers were arrested in Kadirana last night. Those arrested are aged between 23 and 42, the police media unit said. They are to be produced before a Magistrate today. (Colombo Gazette)
