St. Anthony’s church reopens after Easter Sunday attacks

St. Anthony’s church in Kochchikade which was bombed on Easter Sunday, reopened to the public today.

The church was renovated with the assistance of the Navy and reopened with a special service held today.

The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith conducted the special service to reopen the church.

Relatives of those killed in the attack as well as those who sustained injuries were among those present.

St. Anthony’s Shrine which is popular among Catholics and non-Catholics alike was one of three churches attacked on April 21 this year. (Colombo Gazette)
