Acting Ministers appointed to replace Muslim Ministers

Acting Ministers have been appointed to replace the Muslim Ministers who resigned from their posts last week.

The President’s office said that?State Minister of City Planning and Water Supply Lucky Jayawardena was appointed as the Acting Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education.

Deputy Minister of Industries and Commerce Buddhika Pathirana was appointed as the Acting Minister of Industry, Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Cooperative Development, Skills Development and Vocational Training.

Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Anoma Gamage was appointed as Acting Minister of Highways, Road Development & Petroleum Resources Development. (Colombo Gazette)

President Rajapaksa to address special NAM summit tomorrow

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will address a special Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit via teleconference tomorrow (Monday). Rs. 5000 allowance to be paid for May

The Government has decided to pay a Rs. 5000 allowance for the month of May for people affected by the coronavirus. On a directive by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa the Rs. 5000 allowance will be paid from tomorrow (Monday). A Rs. 5000 allowance was earlier paid for the month of April as well. (Colombo Gazette)
