The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and the the Lanka Sama Samaja Party held talks today on working together in a broad alliance.
The SLPP and Lanka Sama Samaja Party led by former Minister Prof. Tissa Vitharana discussed proposals put forward by the Lanka Sama Samaja Party at the meeting today.
SLPP founder Basil Rajapaksa said that the SLPP is moving ahead with plans to form a broad alliance.
He said that as part of these plans the SLPP had talks with the Lanka Sama Samaja Party today.
Rajapaksa said that the SLPP will look at forming a new Government in future.
He said that an SLPP-led alliance will contest the next elections to form a new Government. (Colombo Gazette)
