Hizbullah and Azath Salley resign

Eastern Province Governor M.L.A.M Hizbullah and Western Province Governor Azath Salley resigned from their posts today.

The President’s office said that they handed over their resignation letters to President Maithripala Sirisena.

President Sirisena, who had appointed the two Governors, accepted the resignation letters.

Hizbullah and Salley have been under pressure to resign after being accused of being linked to extremism.

Both Hizbullah and Salley however rejected the allegations. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Obviously, Muslims are taking the path as Tamils who supported the ruthless terrorism for more than three decades. It will be a disaster if all Muslim ministers resign, instead of working with the majority Sinhalese to eliminate the terrorism. I blame India for all this. The whole South Asia is a failed state. Only good for breeding as rabbits and multiplying foolishness.
