President Sirisena leaves for China to meet Xi Jinping

President Maithripala Sirisena left for China today to attend a conference and also have talks with the Chinese leadership.

The President’s office said that he will attend the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in Beijing.

The President left for China with a 27-member delegation.

The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations will be held from May 15 to 22 in Beijing, and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the event and deliver a keynote speech.

More than 2,000 government officials and representatives from 47 countries are expected to attend the opening ceremony and forums.

President Sirisena is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping tomorrow.

Parliament approves two key bills related to the economy

The Public Financial Management and Economic Transformation Bills were passed in Parliament Thursday (25) with amendments and without a vote. Namal accuses Ranil of attempting to divide the SLPP

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser Namal Rajapaksa accused President Ranil Wickremesinghe of dividing the SLPP.
