Bloemendhal garbage dump fire extinguished

A fire which broke out at the Bloemendhal garbage dump was extinguished this evening by the fire brigade with the assistance of the Navy.

The fire brigade said that six fire engines had been used to extinguish the fire.

Separately, the Navy dispatched a fire engine, a water bowser and nine naval personnel.

Firefighters of the Army, Colombo Municipal Council and Colombo harbour and Navy were involved in the operation to extinguish the fire. (Colombo Gazette)
