Actor Ryan and 4 others deported from Dubai

Actor Ryan Van Rooyen and four others were deported from Dubai and were detained on arrival in Sri Lanka.

The Police said that Ryan Van Rooyen and the four others deported from Dubai last night were taken in for questioning by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Ryan Van Rooyen was among several people arrested with notorious underworld leader Makandure Madush at a hotel in Dubai in February.

Over the past few days most of them were deported to Sri Lanka and detained at the Katunayake airport. (Colombo Gazette)

Electricity supply fully restored as PUCSL demands report

Police arrest 1662 people in special operation

Over 1600 suspects were arrested over various crimes in the Western Province over the weekend. The Police said the arrests were made during a special 24- hour operation conducted by the Police Special Task Force (STF). ?Among the 1662 suspects, warrants had been issued on 696.
