CEB ordered to appear in court over “illegal” power cuts

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has been ordered to appear in court over the power cuts implemented around the country.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court ordered the CEB to appear in court on April 09 after the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) filed legal action saying the power cuts were illegal.

The CEB was accused of failing to obtain approval from the PUCSL to carry out the power cuts. (Colombo Gazette)
