Dimuth Karunaratne’s driving licence suspended

The driving licence of Sri Lanka Test Captain Dimuth Karunaratne was today ordered to be suspended by court.

He was also ordered to appear before the Transport Medical Institute to conduct a test.

Karunaratne was produced in court today over an accident in Borella.

The Police had said that Karunaratne was believed to have been under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident yesterday.

The accident had occurred at the Kynsey road junction in Borella.

The vehicle of the cricketer had crashed into a three-wheeler injuring the driver of the three-wheeler.

Karunaratne was arrested yesterday and later released on Police bail.

He appeared in court today and was granted bail but the court ordered that his driving licence be suspended. (Colombo Gazette)
