Nadeemal Perera deported from Dubai and detained in Colombo

Nadeemal Perera, son of singer Amal Perera and another person who were in remand in Dubai have been deported and detained in Colombo by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The other suspect deported is said to be a prison officer.

The Police said that Nadeemal Perera and the other person were questioned by the CID and Police Narcotics Bureau.

Nadeemal Perera was later released after being questioned for several hours.

However, the prison officer was handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division for further investigations.

Amal Perera and Nadeemal Perera had been arrested at a Dubai hotel recently together with notorious underworld leader Makandure Madush. (Colombo Gazette)
