Over 700 participants took part in the Mount Lavinia Hotel’s annual two-mile sea swim.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union for the 82nd time the annual two mile sea swim is both a historic and prestigious event.
One of the oldest open water events in the Asian region, the two mile sea swim has been a test of grit for male and female swimmers across the island against the mighty blue.
Held on the 2nd and 3rd of March, this year over 700 participants took the waters on for the two-day competition.
Hosting once again was the famed Mount Lavinia Hotel. Keeping in line with tradition and heritage has always been the hotel’s strongest focus and an event which has been around for so long deserves a special cultural and historical value addition.
The iconic location lined by the golden shores have been a place both memorable and enjoyable for swimmers, spectators and even hotel guests from around the globe.
