Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka today accused President Maithripala Sirisena of backstabbing the United National Party (UNP).
He said that the President did not allow the UNP to take the good governance policies forward.
Fonseka told Parliament that he will not back the President’s expenditure in the 2019 Budget despite the official stand taken by the UNP.
The UNP had decided to vote in support of the President’s expenditure but Fonseka said that he will vote against it. (Colombo Gazette)
