FCID begins probe on 2016 Central Bank bond fraud

The Police Financial Crimes investigations Division (FCID) has launched an investigation into alleged financial fraud said to have taken place when purchasing Central Bank bonds.

The FCID informed courts today that the fraud is alleged to have taken place in 2016.

The FCID alleged that a Rs 80 million financial fraud had taken place when purchasing Central Bank bonds using funds from the Employees’ Provident Fund in 2016. (Colombo Gazette)
