Revised land deed for Colombo Port City handed over to China

The revised Colombo Port City land deed was handed over to China in the presence of President Maithripala Sirisena and Chinese Ambassador Cheng Xueyuan at the Presidential Secretariat today (October 29). China today donated high tech bomb detecting equipment, including bomb detecting robots to Sri Lanka. China looks to cement ties with new Rajapaksa Government

China is looking to cement ties with the new Government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Cheng Xueyuan called on President Rajapaksa today. Several top officials of the Chinese Embassy in Colombo accompanied the Chinese Ambassador. The talks focused on bilateral relations between both countries and ways to strengthen that relationship. Prior to 2015 the then Mahinda Rajapaksa Government had a very close relationship with China.
