Sri Lanka cautions UN against selective political agendas

Sri Lanka today cautioned the United Nations (UN) against selective political agendas. Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Aryasinha, speaking at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, said that the UN must not be allowed to be hijacked by actors accountable to none with selective political agendas. Hesha Withanage released on bail

United National Party Parliamentarian Hesha Withanage was released on bail today over his failure to appear in court over a case. Withanage was released on bail after he appeared before the Embilipitiya Magistrate today. An arrest warrant was issued on the Parliamentarian yesterday by the Embilipitiya Magistrate. He has been accused in a case involving fraud.
