No traditional group photograph with the President

There was no traditional group photograph of the new cabinet with President Maithripala Sirisena today.

The new cabinet took oaths before the President individually in a room at the Presidential Secretariat.

The cabinet then met for a brief cabinet meeting with the President and left.

In the past the President has posed with the Prime Minister and new cabinet after a new cabinet is appointed.

However this time it was clear the dust had not settled following a deep rift between the President and the United National Front resulting in the official photograph not being included in the agenda for the day. (Colombo Gazette)
