United National Front (UNF) Parliamentarians Mano Ganesan, Rishad Bathiudeen and Malik Samarawickrema were given cabinet posts today despite offering to stay out in order to help limit the cabinet to 30 Ministers.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had this week requested the UNF for volunteers to stay out of the cabinet so others can be given posts and limit the cabinet to 30.
Accordingly, Mano Ganesan, Rishad Bathiudeen and Malik Samarawickrema offered to stay out.
However today, Mano Ganesan was appointed as the Minister of National Integration, Official Languages, Social Progress and Hindu Religious Affairs, Malik Samarawickrama as the Minister of Development Strategies, International Trade and Science, Technology and Research and Rishad Bathiudeen as the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons & Co-operative Development.
