Four Nigerians arrested in Sri Lanka over online scam

Eight suspects, including four Nigerians have been arrested for defrauding Rs. 1.7 million via an online scam. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested based on a complaint filed at the Peliyagoda Police by the victim. Government schools to close for the first term tomorrow

All Government and Government approved schools will close tomorrow, under the first stage for the first term for the year 2021. Commission proposes criminal action against Maithripala

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) which investigated the Easter Sunday attacks has proposed criminal action against former President Maithripala Sirisena. The proposal has been made in a report, a copy of which was submitted to Parliament today (23). The report said based on the evidence, it is of the view that there is criminal liability on the part of former President Sirisena for the acts or omissions pertaining to the attacks.
