The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) says it does not expect major changes in top posts in the Government after the talks scheduled to take place tonight between President Maithripala Sirisena and the United National Front and Opposition leader R. Sampanthan.
Government spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella told reporters today that the President can meet anyone to discuss the political crisis and reach a solution to the issue.
However he dismissed claims of anyone in the Government resigning from their posts after the meetings this evening.
