The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today told Parliament it will not agree to any talks with President Maithripala Sirisena to resolve the political crisis.
JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Parliament that having more talks with the President would be an attempt to agree to the conspiracy orchestrated by him.
Dissanayake said that the focus of the JVP would now be to ensure the President falls in line with the Constitution.
The JVP leader said that there is no reason to have talks with the President when a no-confidence motion has been passed against the Government.
He said the President must take steps to fully implement the Constitution by removing the illegal Government. (Colombo Gazette)
