Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka today insisted that he was not involved in the alleged plot to kill President Maithripala Sirisena.
Fonseka told Parliament that the President had mentioned his name during a meeting with the foreign media recently.
At the meeting, the President had alleged that Fonseka had been linked to a plot to kill the President.
However Fonseka says the allegations are false and he called on the Speaker to look into the claims.
Fonseka also noted a comment made by the President where he had said he will never appoint Ranil Wickremesinghe or Fonseka as Prime Minister.
Fonseka told Parliament he has no intention of being made Prime Minister. (Colombo Gazette)
