HRCSL recommends guidelines to avoid arbitrary and illegal arrests

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has recommended a set of guidelines to the Police to avoid arbitrary and illegal arrests. Probe launched over complaint made by Muslim woman

An investigation has been launched by the Police Special Investigations Unit over a complaint made by a Muslim woman. The woman had alleged that the Bandaragama Police had failed to take action over a complaint she had made that she had been harassed. The Police media unit said that the Special Investigations Unit has launched an investigation over the complaint against the Bandaragama Police.
