CID records statement from IGP on plot to kill President

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recorded a statement from Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara today over the plot to kill President Maithripala Sirisena and other VIPs.

The IGP had been issued notice by the CID to give the statement.

Former Terrorist Investigations Department head, (DIG)?Nalaka de Silva, is already in remand over the plot.

He was arrested last month by the Criminal Investigations Department.

Activist Namal Kumara had made the revelation to the media over the plot to kill the President, following a telephone conversation he had with?Nalaka de Silva. (Colombo Gazette)

EU lifts ban on fisheries products imported from Sri Lanka

VAT exempted from electricity and medicine
