The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna says it has not given nominations to anyone as yet to contest the General elections.
Controversial activist Namal Kumara had said that he had obtained nominations from the SLPP to contest the elections.
However the SLPP said that it has only commenced the initial work for the elections and has not finalised the nominations list as yet.
Namal Kumara has been in the spotlight after he made a startling revelation over a plot to kill the President.
His revelation and subsequent outcome of the investigations was also linked to the President’s decision to sack Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister. (Colombo Gazette)
