Primary objections filed by Gamini Senarath?rejected

Primary objections filed by former President’s Chief of Staff,?Gamini Senarath?and three others on the?jurisdiction of the Special High Court to hear the case filed against them, was rejected today.

The Special High Court said it has the?jurisdiction to hear the case and postponed the case to November 14th.

Senarath has been accused over the alleged misappropriation of Rs 500 million of state funds.

In July, indictments were filed in the first hearing at the Special High Court against the former top officials.

Indictments were served against?Senarath, former Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Managing Director Piyadasa Kudabalage and former Samurdhi Commissioner Neil Bandara Hapuwinna.?(Colombo Gazette)
