The United National Party (UNP) says no decision has been taken to make a leadership change in the party.
UNP Chairman Kabir Hashim told reporters at Temple Trees today that the UNP is prepared to make any changes in the party.
However he said the focus now is to challenge the decision of the President to dissolve Parliament.
There has been speculation UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa will be appointed as the UNP Leader while current leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is put forward as the Prime Ministerial candidate.
Kabir Hashim said that the UNP is preparing to take legal action against the President’s decision to dissolve Parliament.
He said that the opinion of the Elections Commission will also be sought. (Colombo Gazette)
