The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is heading for a split with one of its alliance members, Parliamentarian Sivasakthi Anandan saying he will support Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran to form a new Tamil alliance.
Sivasakthi Anandan had last week accused TNA leader R. Sampanthan of failing to give him time to speak in Parliament.
TNA Parliamentarian, M.A. Sumanthiran backed Sampanthan and said that Sivasakthi Anandan cannot be allowed to speak.
Sivasakthi Anandan however said that he must be allowed to speak as an elected Parliamentarian.
Sumanthiran however insisted that Sivasakthi Anandan will not be given time to speak from the time given to their party.
Speaking at an event today Sivasakthi Anandan has said there was a need now for a new Tamil leadership. (Colombo Gazette)
