China had discussions today with President Maithripala Sirisena on issues which have arisen over some Chinese funded projects in Sri Lanka.
A Chinese delegation led by the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Cheng Xueyuan, met the President for talks today.
Both sides reviewed the progress on the Chinese funded projects in Sri Lanka as well as possible future Chinese investments in Sri Lanka.
The steps which need to be taken to resolve the issues on some Chinese funded projects were discussed during the meeting, the President’s office said.
President Sirisena had assured the Chinese delegation that he will take steps to immediately resolve any issue which has arisen from the projects which are beneficial to Sri Lanka.
Officials from the President’s office, Finance Ministry and National Economic Council also attended the meeting. (Colombo Gazette)
