Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa was grilled by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today over the abduction and assault on journalist Keith Noyahr.
Rajapaksa was questioned for nearly 4 hours regarding the abduction.
Noyahr was abducted in May 2008 and was severely assaulted before being set free.
The former Associate Editor of The Nation newspaper fled the country with his family following the incident fearing for his life.
Last month former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was also questioned over the incident.
Last year six Army officers were arrested in the case over the abduction and assault of journalist Keith Noyhar but were later granted bail.
Former military intelligence head Major General (Retired) Amal Karunasekara was also arrested over the case and was granted bail this week. (Colombo Gazette)
