Gammanpila files petition against 20th Amendment to the Constitution

Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila filed a petition in court today against the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

The draft proposal of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was presented to Parliament this week.

Gammanpila, a member of the joint opposition, told the Supreme Court in his petition that the draft bill on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was a violation of the Constitution.

The 20th Amendment to the Constitution looks to abolish the Executive Presidency. (Colombo Gazette)
