PNB officers further remanded over links to drug dealers

The thirteen (13) Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers who were allegedly involved with drug dealers were further remanded today. The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court ordered the suspects to be further remanded till 22 September. The officers were earlier re-remanded on 31 August. President appoints new High Court judges

The President today appointed new judges to the High Court. The President?s Media Division (PMD) said twelve new High Court Judges were appointed today. Sri Lanka records its 13th COVID-19 death

Sri Lanka today recorded its 13th COVID-19 related death, the Government information Department said. The deceased has been identified as a 60-year old man who had served as a seaman. He died while receiving treatment at the Chilaw Base Hospital. The victim, who had arrived from Bahrain on 02 September, had not been identified as a coronavirus infected patient at the time.
