Court informed all legal steps taken for Mahendran’s extradition

The Attorney General’s (AG) Department has informed court that all legal steps have been taken for the?extradition of former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran from Singapore.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate had earlier ordered the Attorney General (AG) to brief the court on the steps taken to implement the arrest warrant on Mahendran.

Mahendran had also sought information on the allegations against him, through Interpol.

Interpol has already informed Sri Lanka that Arjuna Mahendran is in Singapore.

An Interpol Red Notice has been issued for?Mahendran?s arrest as he is wanted in Sri Lanka over the?central bank treasury bond scam. (Colombo Gazette)
