UNP claims it has the support of all communities

The United National Party (UNP) claims it has the support of all the communities in the country, including the minorities. UNP Parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella said that the public have rejected political parties which operate based on race and religion. He said only the UNP is able to give proper leadership to the country. Speaking at an event in Sammanthurai,?Kiriella said that the UNP has the support, not just of the Sinhalese and Buddhists, but also of the Tamils, Muslims and Christians.
