Maithripala visits Mahinda’s house to pay respects to brother

President Maithripala Sirisena paid his last respects to the late Chandra Rajapaksa, the younger brother of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

President Sirisena paid his last respects at Weeraketiya, Madamulana where the body was kept and offered condolences to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa,Chamal Rajapaksa and Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today (25).

Minister Wjeydasa Rajapakshe, Chief Minister of Western Province Isura Devapriya, Minister of Western province Gamini Thilakasiri and others were present.

Navy detains Indian fishing boat poaching in Sri Lanka waters

The Sri Lanka Navy detained an Indian fishing boat poaching in Sri Lanka waters and arrested three Indians. The Sri Lanka Navy said that the trawler was seized off the Kovilan Lighthouse in Kareinagar.
