President Maithripala Sirisena today said that the Government was not hurt by the recent strikes.

He said that it was the general public who have suffered as a result of the trade union action launched by railway employees this week.

The President said that the strike should have been launched after the ongoing advanced level examination.

He said that some people who use the train do not have money in their hands but only the season ticket to travel by train.

The President said that any problem can be resolved through negotiations.

He said that the current Government does not use the gun to resolve issues. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Of Course HE, only general public was hurt by the strikes, not the Government.

Current government does not know how to resolve the issues, not that they do not resolve the issues using the gun. Shame on us.. for voting these people.
