Calculation process of income tax for medical specialists to change

The calculation process of income tax for medical specialists is to be amended.

The Ministry of Finance and Mass Media said that members of the Association of Medical Specialists held a discussion with the Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera where agreement was reached to amend the process of the expenditure calculation for the purpose of income tax payment.

The Ministry insisted that there was no change in the tax rate for the calculation of the Income Tax or the PAYE tax. (Colombo Gazette)

Families from Bandaranayake Mawatha moved to quarantine centers

Over 1000 persons from Colombo -12 were transferred to Military- run quarantine centers today. The Ministry of Health said 1010 persons belonging to 242 families were transferred from Bandaranayake Mawatha in Colombo -12 to the quarantine centers. Government assures justice for victims of deadly bombings

The Government today assured that it would bring before the law all the culprits who planned, financed and supported the bombings that killed over 270 people and wounded over 500 others on Easter Sunday last year.
