UNF will support Sangakkara if he enters active politics

The United National Front will support former cricketer Kumar Sangakkara if he enters active politics.

Cabinet spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, responding to a question raised at a media briefing today, said that the UNF was not in talks with?Sangakkara for him to enter politics.

However the Minister said that he was not aware if the United National Party (UNP) was speaking with?Sangakkara.

He said if?Sangakkara does decide to enter politics it will be a good move and the UNF will support him.

The UNF is led by the UNP and consists of several political parties which work with the UNP in Parliament. (Colombo Gazette)
