PM tells President to temporarily remove Maheswaran’s post

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested President Maithripala Sirisena to temporarily remove the post given to State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran.

Parliament was forced to be adjourned till tomorrow after a tense situation arose today over a recent speech made by United National Party Parliamentarian and State Minister of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran.

Maheswaran had reportedly said that the LTTE needs to be back in order to ensure incidents like that of the recent murder of a child in Jaffna does not take place.

The Government and the opposition condemned the statement made by the State Minister.

The opposition demanded that Wickremesinghe make a formal statement to Parliament on the matter. (Colombo Gazette)

Mr.Ranil wickrama Singhe, you must think thousand times for the reason, why Viyakala Mahesan spoke that the LTTE,should come again. You sinhalese, planned well and killed thousands of tamils under the name of fighting against terrorists .Now,there is no war,but you all well planned and bringing drugs from INDIAand distributing in the east and north to ruin the tamil community. When, there was no confident motion against you,you begged for the TNA,to support you. If you have guts, please put an end to the drugs and the atrocities done by the rowdies.Who are the people aiding and abetting these rowdies? We know very well that you will turn a blind eye towards these activities because, you are not at all worried about the weifare of tamils.By your actions and behaviour, you showed to us that you are only for sinhalese.
