Postal strike called off following talks between unions and Minister

The two week long postal strike was called off today following talks between trade unions and the Minister of Posts, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Abdul Haleem.

The strike had a severe impact on postal services with mail not being distributed.

Postal unions said that the strike was suspended as the subject Minister had given an assurance to address their demands this week. (Colombo Gazette)
