Painting in honour of Lakshman Kadirgamar unveiled in Geneva

At the initiative of Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva, a painting in honour of the Late Lakshman Kadirgamar, the former Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, was unveiled at the WIPO premises by Dr. Liam Fox, the British Secretary of State for International Trade, in the presence of a large gathering of invitees.
Dr. Liam Fox praised the late Kadirgamar for his tireless work and outstanding contribution in strengthening global understanding and cooperation, calling him “a giant of a man”.
Director General Francis Hurry, recalling his close association with the late Kadirgamar at WIPO praised the late Kadirgamar for helping him to expand his horizon through creative thinking and contribution in the field of intellectual property.
The painting by renowned painter Stanley Kirinde had been gifted by Mrs. Suganthi Kadirgamar to the WIPO in commemoration of the life of the late Kadirgamar.
The Sri Lanka and UK Missions in Geneva and the WIPO had coordinated the unveiling ceremony. (Colombo Gazette)
