Main suspect in Kataragama temple shooting incident identified

The main suspect in the Kataragama temple shooting incident has been identified, the Police said.

According to the Police, the suspect, identified as?Asela Lakshman Bandara, had been employed at a temple earlier.

The Police had found weapons inside the house of the main suspect.?Investigations are underway to locate the main suspect.

The chief incumbent of the?Kiriwehera temple in Kataragama and another monk were admitted to hospital after being shot at by unidentified gunmen yesterday.

A van used for the crime was later found by the Police. (Colombo Gazette)

Individual injured in Palai explosion dies

An individual who was injured in an explosion in the Ayyakachchiya area in Palai succumbed to his injuries today. Another PNB officer linked to heroin racket arrested

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested a Police Constable (PC) attached to the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) over links to drug dealers.
