The Attorney General has informed the Secretary to the President Austin Fernando, releasing the report will not have an impact on ongoing investigations into the scam.
The advice of the Attorney General had been sought to release the full report of the Presidential Commission on the Central Bank treasury bond scam.
President’s Secretary Austin Fernando had said that he had sought the advise of the AG to make public the full report.
The report of the Presidential Commission which investigated the treasury bond scam was handed over to the President last December and to Parliament last January.
The report found that the public suffered a loss of Rs. 11.5 billion as a result of the treasury bond deal. (Colombo Gazette)
