Human smugglers, illegal immigrants detained in North

The Navy drained human smugglers and a group of illegal immigrants in the North seas today,

The Navy media unit said that naval personnel onboard a fast attack craft attached to the Northern Naval Command intercepted a suspicious dinghy in the Northern seas and detained seven people.

The dinghy was spotted 11 nautical miles north of Kankasanthure.

The Navy said that two human smugglers engaged in smuggling activities between India and Sri Lanka were detained together with two women, two men and a child.

They were taken to the naval base SLNS Uththara in Kankasanthurei and later handed over to the Kankesanthurai police. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. I believe that there are people in Jaffna who had intruded during the brutal civil war, we need to check their legality to stay in Sri Lanka. Those corrupted Grama Servsgas filled the national identity cards forms for money. I hope when the Rajapaksas come to power they can clean up.
