Presidential pardon sought for political prisoner

A Presidential pardon has been sought for a Tamil political prisoner on humanitarian grounds.

Northern Province Chief Minister, C.V Wigneswaran has written to President MaithripalaSirisena seeking a Presidential pardon for SachithananthamAnandaSudhakaran.

Meanwhile Sudhakaran?s daughter Sangeetha has written to President Maithripala Sirisena?s daughter Chathurika seeking her intervention to secure the release of Sachithanantham Ananda Sudhakaran.

In her letter Sangeetha says she lived with her brother alone with no mother or father.

She says he would love to be with her father and urged Chathurika Sirisena to use her influence to secure her father?s release. (Colombo Gazette)

Unruly fans disrupted a mega show in Jaffna, Friday night, featuring top Indian stars including Hariharan and Rambha.
