Two former officials of Presidential Secretariat arrested

The Police has arrested a former Additional Secretary and an Accountant of the Presidential Secretariat, the Police media unit said.

The Police said the officials was arrested over alleged financial misappropriation said to have been committed during the purchase of at least eight vehicles in 2010 when Mahinda Rajapaksa was President.

According to the Police, the officials were ordered to be placed in remand custody until January 29 after being produced before court. (Colombo Gazette)

Duty-free shops at BIA relocated

Duty-free shops at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) have been relocated from the first floor to the second floor, Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited said. Auto diesel and kerosene prices reduced

The price of auto diesel and kerosene have been reduced, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) said. Accordingly, CEYPETCO said that the price of auto diesel has been reduced by Rs. 15 per litre and kerosene by Rs. 10. Auto diesel will now be sold at Rs. 405 a litre and kerosene at Rs. 355.
