Parliament Public gallery to remain closed

The Parliament public gallery which was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, will remained closed until further notice. The Serjeant at Arms of Parliament Narendra Fernando said that the public gallery will remain closed until recommendations are received from the health authorities. The ninth Parliament of Sri Lanka convened for the first time last week. The new Parliament convened by following health guidelines issued to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. (Colombo Gazette)

Number of coronavirus patients in Sri Lanka continues to rise

Ten more individuals infected with the coronavirus were detected in Sri Lanka today. The Government Information Department said the infected patients were inmates from the Kandakadu rehabilitation centre. The National Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 said as of this morning, a total of 629 persons were reported to have been infected following the outbreak reported at the Kandakadu rehabilitation centre.
