SC rejects SLFP petition on Dehiattakandiya nominations

The Supreme Court today rejected a petition by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) with regards to its nominations for the Dehiattakandiya Pradeshiya Sabha at the Local Government elections.

The SLFP nominations for?the Dehiattakandiya Pradeshiya Sabha had been rejected by the Department of Elections.

The SLFP challenged the rejection of its nominations by filing a petition in the Supreme Court.

However the Supreme Court today dismissed the petition.

The Local Government elections are scheduled to take place on February 10. (Colombo Gazette)
